TUITION & PAYMENT INFORMATION
Tuition for participation in the A String Fort Smith Spring 2025 Semester is $200 per student – for both HIGH SCHOOL and Non-HIGH SCHOOL students. HOWEVER...
HIGH SCHOOL students are encouraged to apply to their High School Music Department for scholarship support - allocated to A String Fort Smith by Northside and Southside High Schools. Scholarship support for the Spring 2025 Semester is available in the amount of $100 per student. HIGH SCHOOL students accepted into A String Fort Smith will be required to bring a check in the amount of $100 – payable to A String Fort Smith – to the first rehearsal, on Monday, January 13th, 2025. If High School scholarship is not secured, an additional $100 will be payable no later than the third rehearsal, or by Monday, February 3rd, 2025.
Non-HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS are encouraged to apply to A String Fort Smith for funding based on need, up to a maximum of $100 for the Spring 2025 Semester. A String Fort Smith will consider subsidizing Non-HIGH SCHOOL participants both based on need and a willingness to perform in a public setting free of charge (for example, playing at a church or in a nursing home). Non-HIGH SCHOOL students accepted into A String Fort Smith will be required to bring a check in the amount of $100 – payable to A String Fort Smith – to the first rehearsal, on Monday, January 13th, 2025.
Students are required to attend and participate in all rehearsals and concerts; if a student must miss a rehearsal for any reason, kindly contact Ms. Fay by email (office@astringfortsmith.com); no refunds will be offered for missed sessions and substitute sessions will not be offered.
DISCLAIMERS:
1. If by reason of illness or physical incapacity or other reasonable cause, A String Fort Smith (ASFS) is unable to perform the sessions listed below, ASFS shall notify Student(s) and Parent(s) at once. In such an event:
Student(s) and Parent(s) shall not be liable to pay any fee or remuneration, except for those rehearsal sessions which actually took place;
ASFS will return remaining tuition to Student(s) and Parent(s);
ASFS shall not delegate rehearsals or the final concert to any other party.
2. Student(s) and Parent(s) indemnify and hold ASFS, St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church/Fort Smith, and Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM) harmless for any and all property damage or personal injury that results from, or is related to, the rehearsals or performances.
3. Student(s) and Parent(s) indemnify and hold ASFS, St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church/Fort Smith, and ARCOM, harmless for any illness – including, but not limited to Covid-19 or Coronavirus – resulting from participating in/attending rehearsal sessions and/or concerts. While strict cleaning measures will be taken both before and after rehearsals and before the performances at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church and ARCOM, it is understood that as a public program taking place in a public building, ASFS and St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church and ARCOM will not take responsibility for the transmission of Covid-19 or Coronavirus, or any other illness determined to be connected to participation in this program.
4. Should either of the parties (ASFS or Student) be unable to perform or proceed with these sessions, resulting from an Act of God—including but not limited to: earthquake, flood or hurricane, tornado, war or warlike actions (whether war be declared or not), act of terrorism, national calamity, national pandemic, accident, explosion, riot, epidemic, disruption of airline and any other travel services or act, or order of any legally constituted authority whether State, Municipal or Federal—then this Agreement shall be considered null and void and of no effect.
